Hi everyone! We’re Brandon and Brittany Lane, owners of Allagash Guide Service. We’ve proudly owned and operated the business since the spring of 2016, continuing a tradition of serving paddlers that has been going strong for over 45 years. We take great pride in helping visitors experience the beauty of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, and we truly care about making every trip as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

Whether you’re planning your first trip or your fiftieth, we offer a full range of services to help make your adventure easy from start to finish.

Our Services

• Transportation Services – Drive to our private, secure takeout in Allagash, leave your vehicle with us, and we’ll transport you, your gear, and your canoe to the launch site of your choice.

• Vehicle Shuttle Services – Drive your own vehicle to your starting point, begin your trip, and while you’re enjoying the river, we’ll safely shuttle your vehicle to our private takeout so it’s waiting when you finish.

• Canoe & Kayak Rentals – We offer a fleet of 30+ canoes along with a selection of kayaks for everything from day trips to week-long adventures.

• Fully Guided Canoe Trips – Let us take care of the details. Our guided packages include canoes, equipment, meals, lodging, and everything you’ll need except your sleeping bag and personal items.

• Guided Fishing Trips – Spend a day fishing some of northern Maine’s most beautiful waters with experienced local guides.

• Lodging – Need a place to stay before or after your trip? We offer comfortable overnight accommodations, including The Bear’s Den, which sleeps 7–9 guests and can accommodate up to 13 by opening the lower level. We also have two private guest rooms, each with its own private bathroom, perfect for couples or smaller groups.

This isn’t a side business or a seasonal hobby—it’s our full-time profession. We’re fully insured, licensed Registered Maine Guides, and spend countless days on the river every season. Because we’re out there so often, we can give you current river conditions, honest recommendations, and firsthand advice that only comes from regularly paddling the Allagash ourselves.

Our goal is simple: help every customer have the best trip possible. That means we’ll always be honest with you—even if it isn’t what you were hoping to hear. If water levels, weather, road conditions, or other factors could affect your trip, we’ll tell you. We’d much rather help you adjust your plans than see you have anything less than an amazing experience.

Our job doesn’t end when we drop you off at the launch. Every customer receives our personal contact information to use as an emergency contact while they’re on the river. If you have a question, need assistance, or run into an unexpected situation, we’re only a phone call or text away. We want every group to know they’re never alone out there.

Over the years, we’ve gotten to know the North Maine Woods like the back of our hands. We have strong relationships with landowners, logging contractors, and woods workers throughout the region, allowing us to stay up to date on road conditions, river conditions, and other important information that can help make your trip go smoothly.
