About

We’re Brandon and Brittany Lane, owners of Allagash Guide Service since the spring of 2016. As the third owners of this long-standing business, we’re proud to continue a tradition of serving visitors to the Allagash that has spanned more than 45 years.

Our goal has always been to provide dependable, honest, and professional service while helping our customers experience everything the Allagash Wilderness Waterway and the North Maine Woods have to offer. Whether you’re renting a canoe, booking a shuttle, staying in our lodging, or joining us on a guided adventure, we want every guest to leave with memories that last a lifetime.

We’re committed to treating every customer the way we’d want to be treated ourselves. That means answering questions, helping with trip planning, giving honest recommendations, and always putting your experience first. We believe the relationships we build with our customers are just as important as the services we provide, and we’re proud that many visitors return to paddle with us year after year.

Paddling & Wilderness Experience

As licensed Registered Maine Guides, the outdoors isn’t just something we enjoy—it’s our full-time profession and our way of life. We spend 365 days a year in the North Maine Woods, whether we’re guiding canoe trips, transporting paddlers, scouting hunting areas, fishing, maintaining trails and equipment, or simply exploring the wilderness we call home.

Because we’re on the Allagash throughout the season, we’re able to provide current, firsthand knowledge of river conditions, water levels, logging roads, campsites, wildlife activity, and weather patterns. We maintain strong relationships with landowners, logging contractors, and woods workers across the region, allowing us to stay informed and pass that knowledge along to our customers.

We believe the best trips begin with honest advice. If conditions aren’t ideal, we’ll tell you. If there’s a better route, launch date, or trip option, we’ll recommend it. Our goal is to help every customer have the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.

Our commitment doesn’t end when your trip begins. Every customer receives our personal contact information so we’re available if questions arise or assistance is needed while you’re on the river. We take great pride in sharing our knowledge, our experience, and our passion for the Allagash with every group we have the privilege of serving.
